Austbrokers Canberra CRC TOTY: Hooker

The next installment of our Austbrokers Canberra CRC Team of the Year sees us take a look at our options at hooker.

Hooker: Josh Mitchell (Tuggeranong Bushrangers)

After plying his trade for the Central Queensland Capras for two seasons in the Intrust Super Cup, Mitchell returned to Tuggeranong to help propel the Bushrangers into the finals.

Although Mitchell played the majority of his football at hooker, he also played at halfback as he organised Tuggeranong’s attack.

The Valley Dragons junior scored plenty of points during the season with 11 tries and 48 goals.

Having finished second in this year’s McIntyre Medal with 16 points, Mitchell edges out Queanbeyan Kangaroos captain-coach, Aaron Gorrell who had a fantastic year in his final playing season.

Contenders: Aaron Gorrell (Queanbeyan Kangaroos), Sam Finnegan (West Belconnen Warriors)

Up Next: Second Row
