The Goulburn Workers Bulldogs have announced the signings of Mitch and Tyler Cornish for the 2019 season.
The Goulburn juniors have decided to return home after stints playing in the NRL and Intrust Super Premiership and will link up with their younger brother Nick.
Having the three brothers on board is a significant boost for Goulburn’s playmaking stocks as the Bulldogs attempt to reach the finals for the first time since 2015.
“It’s fantastic to welcome back two of our local juniors to the club, ” said Goulburn Head Coach Adam Kyle. “Both Mitch and Tyler are quality players with NRL experience who will strengthen our playmaking options and their professionalism and passion for the club will add to our culture.
“With the three Cornish brothers and James Aubusson committing for next year, our spine will have plenty of NRL experience which will help us immensely.”
Mitch, 25, joins after a two year stint with the Sydney Roosters after previously having represented the Canberra Raiders. The halfback has made 15 NRL appearances in his career and has recently been the understudy to Cooper Cronk.
Tyler, 23, re-joins after spending the second half of the 2017 season with the Bulldogs before joining the Mounties for the 2018 Intrust Super Premiership season. Tyler also has previous NRL experience having represented the Gold Coast Titans on one occasion.
