Hall Hornets have taken out the George Tooke Shield for 2012, winning against the Bungendore Tigers 34-12.
On a fantastic spring Sunday at West Belconnen Leagues Club, Hall proved that winning the semi final and earning a week off was excellent preparation, leading 20-6 at the break.
Bungendore, who came off a hard fought win against Boorowa the previous week, showed the fighting spirit that saw them win last year’s shield, but unfortunately, it was too late, with Hall scoring 14 points in the second half to take the game 34-12.
Hall shared the spoils, with 7 players scoring tries, including Man of the match Jacob Graham (Hall) who was everywhere. Steven Death (Bungendore) was again steady with the boot, converting both his side’s tries.
Hall Hornets 34 (Ashley Werner, Jacob Graham, Padriac O’Callaghan, Archie Prescott, Will Parsons, Matt O’Gorman, Kal Barnes tries; Will Parsons 3 goals) defeated Bungendore Tigers 12 (Josh Chudleigh, Ash Reeves tries; Steven Death 2 goals)
