Katrina Fanning Shield Round 14 Wrap

Goulburn Stockmen 36 (Tries: A Kara 2, P Rakete, J Ottaway, G Marshall, S Economos, A Parry, E Bradley; Goals: L Kelly 2) d Tuggeranong Buffaloes 4 (Tries: C Jackson)

The Goulburn Stockmen have charged into the finals off the back of a 36-4 win over the Tuggeranong Buffaloes in the final regular season game.

Goulburn ran in eight tries to one and will again face off with the Buffaloes this weekend in an elimination final at the Workers Arena on Friday night.

Goulburn centre Ashley Kara grabbed two tries in the win and now has four tries from her six games this season.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing for last year’s runners-up with goal kicker Lauren Kelly successfully kicking two of Goulburn’s eight attempts.

Goulburn have the credentials to win with the team only conceding 72 points in their 14 games this season seeing them enter the finals with the best points differential.

In the other Round 14 matches, Queanbeyan United and Gungahlin were both awarded points due to forfeits.

Finals begin this Friday as the Yass Magpies host the Queanbeyan Blues and Goulburn once again take on the Tuggeranong Buffaloes.
