The Queanbeyan Kangaroos proved themselves competitive throughout the 2018 season as they rose one place on the ladder from the previous year.

Their defence and attack improved considerably from the inaugural season too, with 43 more points scored and 103 fewer points conceeded.

The Kangaroos had a difficult start to the season as they played three of the four top sides in the opening rounds and as a result claimed one win, against the Valley Dragons.

A narrow 12-8 loss against Tuggeranong took place in Round 5 but it was followed by a comprehensive 36-0 victory against Gungahlin.

The Kangaroos had to wait until Round 10 for their next victory as they claimed the season double over the Valley Dragons with a 30-0 win. However, it was their last win for the season.

Season Highlight

A Round 6 victory over the Gungahlin Bulls at GIO Stadium was a standout moment in the Kangaroos’ season.

The Kangaroos were in unstoppable form on the big stage as they scored seven tries during the match.
