Queanbeyan Derby Ends in Stalemate

The Queanbeyan derby has ended in a stalemate after a tense finale with both sides missing field goals attempts.

The Blues started the stronger of the two sides but the Kangaroos roared back into contention midway through the second half.

Jayden Baxter added a further four points when the prop showed good footwork close to the line. Lachlan Cooper added the two points once again as the margin narrowed to four points.

However, Ilija Cotric waltzed over the line after the Blues once again attacked down their right make the halftime score 22-12.

The Blues extended their lead shortly after the break when Zac Patch broke through the line and Campese added the extras.

The Kangaroos comeback was under way when Eli Sinoti latched on to a Lachlan Cooper Crossfield kick and Jeremiah Simbiken add another on the opposite edge.

The Kangaroos stormed levelled the scores on the back of some Bryan Cronan brilliance when the fleet-footed centre stepped his way through the line to score.
