The Summer Sevens drew to a close on Thursday as High Schools from around the region competed for the title of champions at Seiffert Oval.
Having played earlier in the year for the opportunity to feature on the finals day, Gold Creek School, John Paul College and Melba Copland Secondary School were named champions in the three divisions.
NRL Development Officer Adam Kyle believed the tournament was a success and was pleased by the number of school students who played rugby league for the first time.
“It was great to see so many kids playing the game and having fun with their mates,” Kyle said. “There were a number of students who were trying rugby league for the first time and we hope to see them again in our other events throughout the year.
“Congratulations to our three champions who played well over the entirety of the tournament and were deserved winners.”
