The Crookwell Green Devils finished the season as Minor Premiers for the second year in a row as they won all but one match during the course of the regular season.
After the closest margin in the first four matches being 36 points, the Green Devils travelled to McLean Oval where they faced the defending Premiers, the Harden Hawks. Having lost last years Grand Final to the Hawks, Crookwell were eager to claim victory but succumbed to a 30-18 loss.
From that moment on, the Green Devils were unbeatable as they won their next 11 matches, including a 34-20 win over Harden in Round 14.
Once again, Crookwell faced Harden once finals started and a 36-14 win put Crookwell into the Grand Final. They ended up facing the North Canberra Bears and put last year’s demons behind them to claim the Premiership with a 22-16 win.

The Crookwell She Devils went one better in 2018 as they rose from fourth to third in the league.
The season started brightly for the She Devils as they claimed four straight wins before they lost two consecutive matches against League Tag powerhouses, Harden and Bungendore.
From that moment onwards, Crookwell won their next six matches before succumbing to the same two opponents. However, Crookwell showed their improvement by only losing by two and six points respectively.
Unfortunately for the She Devils, they didn’t claim another win during the regular season as they lost to North Canberra and drew with Boorowa.
Their form lifted again for finals with an 18-16 win over Bungendore sending them into the Major Semi Final. However, they lost that match 16-12 to Harden.
Crookwell entered the Preliminary Final hoping to be the first side to break the Harden and Bungendore duopoly but were convincingly beaten 32-8 by Bungendore.

The Crookwell Green Devils dropped one place on the ladder in comparison to 2017, but showed their ability to the mix it with the best in the competition.
After starting the season with two losses at the hands of Yass and North Canberra respectively, Crookwell enjoyed wins against Tuggeranong and Harden Boorowa.
A heavy Round 8 defeat against North Canberra was followed by a valuable 26-24 win against Harden Boorowa and the results highlighted the inconstancy that plagued Crookwell’s season.
In Round 14 the Green Devils almost claimed a narrow win against eventual Premiers Yass but couldn’t hold on to their lead, going down 22-18.
Crookwell claimed their first win against North Canberra for the year in Round 17 and entered the finals campaign in third place.
Unfortunately for the Green Devils, they were bundled out in quick fashion as they lost the Qualifying Final 18-6 to Harden Boorowa before losing their Semi Final 38-12 to North Canberra.
After a heartbreaking Grand Final loss in 2017, Crookwell secured their first George Tooke Shield since 2006 with a 22-16 win over the North Canberra Bears.
The Green Devils jumped out to a 22-0 lead early in the second half but had a nervous finish as North Canberra stormed home.
Fortunately for Crookwell, they managed to hold on to claim a memorable six point win.
