Season Review: UC Grizzlies

The UC Grizzlies finished seventh for the second consecutive year as they finished the season with 12 competition points.

After a difficult start to the season, the Grizzlies grabbed their first points of the campaign courtesy of a Round 4 draw against the Gunning Roos. That was followed by their first win as they claimed a 32-22 victory against Binalong.

An 12-10 loss to ADFA took place in Round 6 before UC secured yet another draw, this time a 30-30 score against the Bungendore Tigers.

The Grizzlies lost their following four matches but returned to winning way in Round 13 with a 24-4 win against Gunning. UC then lost to Binalong before claiming revenge against ADFA, as they posted a 36-12 win.

The Grizzlies went on to lose their last two matches for the season.

Ladies League Tag

Position: 7th
Win/Loss/Draw: 6-9-1
Points For: 248
Points Against: 268

The Grizzlies doubled the number of wins they managed in 2017 as they finished seventh on the ladder.

After a narrow opening round loss to Crookwell, the Grizzlies registered an 18-14 win against Boorowa.

Consecutive defeats to North Canberra and Gunning were followed by wins against ADFA and Binalong.

The second half of the season provided another three wins as UC claimed the season double over ADFA and Binalong, while also registering a win against the Gunning Rooetts. The Grizzlies also registered a draw in their home match against Boorowa.

Season Highlight

The results for the UC Grizzlies were vastly improved in the Ladies League Tag competition. As mentioned above, they managed to double the number of wins they accrued during 2017.

A win and a draw against eventual finalists Boorowa, were the standout results from their successful campaign.
