Sports Trainer and Coaching Accreditation Update

Sports Medicine Australia have made some changes to the accreditation process for the 2020 season.

All Sports Trainer Accreditations that were due to expire from 19 March 2020 to 19 September 2020 have been extended for a further six months. The six month period applies from the date of the person’s current expiry date.

Sports Trainer Accreditation that expired in February and early March may also be eligible for an extension. Email SMA at safersport@sma.org.au to enquire.

SMA are currently discussing a plan for new course delivery, which will be communicated once finalised.

For International and Modified Games coaches, the completion of the online modules will allow the individual to begin coaching in both training and games. To register into the online modules, click here.

The coach has to complete the Face to Face workshop component of the relevant course in order to achieve full accreditation. This must be done no later than four weeks prior to the completion of the team’s regular season competition.
